The quotation for special containers requires an accurate understanding of the shipping market's carrying capacity, shipping company pricing methods and market prices. Characteristics of operating special containers The number of special containers owned by carriers is small, and the market demand is also small. It is difficult to operate and the links are complicated. The entire transportation process requires multiple links to be confirmed before it can be undertaken. It mainly requires prior confirmation of containers, prices, and space. The prices vary greatly and are not comparable. Many shipping companies do not provide special container services. Precautions for special box operation

The main points to note for refrigerated containers are: the requirements for the cabinet settings, whether pre-cooling is required, whether a loadability inspection (CWI) is required, the degree of ventilation opening, the temperature, the time to pick up the cabinet, the free cabinet usage period, and the free storage period at the terminal.

Open top containers: confirm the weight, size, loading and unloading requirements of the goods, and the requirements of the owner for the cabinet in advance.

Open Top Container

The characteristic of this container is that the top of the box can be easily removed and installed. There are two types of tops: hard top and soft top. The hard top is made of thin steel plates and is loaded and unloaded by lifting machinery. The soft top is generally made of canvas, plastic sheeting or plastic-coated cloth. When opening the top, just roll it up at one end. This container is suitable for loading large and heavy goods, such as steel, wood, machinery, and especially fragile heavy goods such as glass plates. It is not easy to damage the goods by using a crane to lift the goods into the box from the top, and it is also easy to fix them in the box.


Flat Rack Container

This type of container is characterized by having no roof and side walls, and even the end walls are removed, leaving only the bottom plate and four corner columns. This type of container can be loaded and unloaded from the front, back, left, right and top, and is suitable for loading long and heavy items, such as heavy machinery, steel, wood, steel ingots, etc. The platform-type container is not waterproof, and goods that are afraid of water cannot be shipped. If they must be shipped, they can only be covered with canvas and sealed.


Plat-form Container

This type of container is simpler than the platform container and only retains the bottom plate. It is mainly used for loading and unloading long and heavy goods, such as heavy machinery and equipment, steel, etc. The length and width of the platform are the same as the bottom dimensions of international standard containers, and the same fasteners and lifting devices as other containers can be used. The use of this type of container breaks the concept that containers must have a certain volume.


Tank Container

As the name implies, this type of container is designed for shipping liquid goods, such as alcohol, gasoline, and chemicals. It consists of a tank body and a frame. The tank body is used to load liquids, and the frame is used to support and fix the tank body. The outer wall of the tank body is made of thermal insulation material to insulate the tank body, and the inner wall is generally ground and polished to prevent liquid from remaining on the wall. In order to reduce the viscosity of the liquid, a heater is also provided at the bottom of the tank body, and the temperature inside the tank body can be observed through a thermometer installed on its upper part. For the convenience of loading and unloading, a loading port is provided on the top of the tank, and a discharge valve is provided at the bottom of the tank. When loading, the liquid enters from the loading port on the top of the tank, and flows out from the discharge hole when unloading. It can also be sucked out from the top loading port with a straw.


Reefer Container

Refrigerated containers, also known as freezers, are insulated containers that are mainly used to transport frozen foods and can maintain a certain low temperature. They are specially designed for transporting fish, shrimp, meat, fresh fruits, vegetables and other foods. There are basically two types of refrigerated containers used internationally: one is a mechanical refrigerated container with a refrigerator inside the container; the other is a container without a refrigerator but only with insulation equipment. The end wall of the container is equipped with air inlets and outlets. After the box is loaded in the cabin, the ship's refrigeration device supplies cold air, which is called a clutch refrigerated container (also known as an external refrigerated container).
